Cool Mint Smoothie

It's St. Patrick's Day! The arrival of St. Patrick's Day means that spring is just a hop, skip and a jump away. After an intense 60 minute cardio session, I am in dire need of something cold! This hits just the spot. I've never been one for green beer on St. Patty's Day but green smoothies, heck yes! Count me in all.day.long. 

This smoothie is EXTRA cooling because I tossed in (a lot) of mint leaves. This herbaceous plant is fresh and super aromatic with a sweet flavor and the best cool aftertaste. This smoothie is a wonder at refreshing the senses and energizing the body.

Cool Mint Smoothie

You need:

  • 1 frozen banana 
  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 small handful destemmed kale pieces
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (I used Califia Farms!) 
  • 1/4 tsp spirulina powder
  • 10 small mint leaves
  • 3 pieces of ice
  • 1 tbl raw honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Get cooking:

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth!
