Tangy Turmeric Mango Smoothie

This tangy and tropical smoothie makes me feel very ZIPPY! My digestive system is FINALLY back on track after days and days of willing my body to get back to normal, we've arrived. I wanted to keep my intake on the lighter side and this smoothie does the trick with flying colors. It's always fun to welcome a smoothie to my endless tribe of banana smoothies. (I still love you, nanans!) This smoothie is super tart, very zingy and is just right to help detoxify the body. Lemon juice helps to clean out your system and aid the liver in ridding toxins. Fresh turmeric adds a punch to both the taste of the smoothie and healthful benefits. Turmeric is known to have strong anti-inflammatory properties and is a powerful antioxidant. 

This smoothie only has 4 (FOUR!!!) ingredients + water and ice but yet it's rich with vitamins. I found the recipe in the Blissful Basil cookbook and tweaked it ever so slightly. I hope you give it a try and start feeling the zip.

Tangy Turmeric Mango Smoothie (serves 1)

You need:

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1/2 cup seedless grapes
  • 2 tbl lemon juice
  • 1 small knob fresh turmeric, peeled (or 1/4 tsp ground turmeric)
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup water 

Get cooking:

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blitz until very smooth.
